Bio
Matt attended UNC Charlotte, where he completed his Master’s in Electrical Engineering. He then worked for over 10 years in embedded systems, focusing on IoT cloud integration, over-the-air updates, remote telemetry, commercial appliance controls, data analytics, cybersecurity, and industrial controls. Matt enjoys low-level programming and building machines from Halloween props to CNC equipment.
Greatest Accomplishments
Working with my dad, we built a CNC plasma cutter from the ground up. He designed the mechanical side while I did the controls. The project was challenging because the enormous EM interference from the plasma torch kept knocking out the control systems and locking up the stepper motors until I perfected the shielding.
