Bio
Sam is an Electrical Engineer with a BS from Liberty University and a MS from North Carolina State University. Both of his degrees are in Electrical Engineering and his graduate specialization was in analog and RF circuit design for integrated circuits.
Before graduate school, Sam held two internships in utility related businesses (Pentair and Flowserve) and gained experience with electronics and embedded systems for residential and industrial control systems. After graduate school, he started a career in the semiconductor industry (Qorvo) as an integrated circuit designer where he primarily designed and validated chip laminate and package designs and designed sub circuits on Silicon die.
Sam is passionate about applied engineering and enjoys designing electrical hardware including PCBs (mixed signal, power, and RF), Embedded GUIs, electronic enclosures, and interfacing his designs with sensors and things that move or do work.
Greatest Accomplishments
In my personal life, my greatest accomplishment is learning what love is. Love is the choice to want the best for someone and is not pleasure. It is deep, unconditional, and implies a multitude of good actions towards people. Through my faith and knowing my wife, I’ve learned (and still learning) what love is and how to make the choice daily to love others in all that I do.
In my professional life, my greatest accomplishment is designing a protocol emulator for an industrial communication network. It was for my undergraduate capstone project and it used all of my contemporary electronics, embedded system design, and enclosure design skills (at the time). It has been the most complex thing I have designed that has met and exceeded the needs of a client.
